NEW DELHI: E. Somakanta slotted in five goals to steer K.T. High School (Manipur) to an 8-2 win against Pabiachecera School (Tripura) in the Group VII league match of the Subroto Cup Under-17 football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday. Somakanta struck in the 11th, 34th, 35th, 54th and 58th minutes as the Manipur boys dominated the proceedings from the start. V. Vmakanta (9th minute), A. Sonamani (40th) and N. Hemchandra (51st) were the other scorers for the Manipur school. Mithun put Tripura ahead in the seventh minute, but could not sustain the momentum for long. Rhamauna (60th) scored towards the end for the loser. Other results: NLC Boys HSS (Tamil Nadu) bt St. Thomas College (Sri Lanka) 7-3. Rosary HS (Goa) bt St. Joseph’s School (Thiruvananthapuram) 1-0.
