BERHAMPUR: Over 2,000 supporters of Lanjipalli Shanti Surakhya Seva Samity (LSSSS), including women, demonstrated in front of the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner on Saturday. They were protesting against detaining of their president Santosh Sahu under the National Security Act (NSA). They shouted slogans against Superintendent of Police Dayal Gangwar and demanded his transfer. They handed over a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister at the RDC office demanding lifting of NSA over Sahu. District Congress president Bhagaban Gantyat and people from suburbs took part in the agitation. Sahu shot to fame a few years ago due to the struggle against liquor mafia. At times, the activists took law into their own hands against the criminals.
