Kanpur: A prisoner was seriously injured and admitted to hospital after making a bid to escape from the district jail here. Indrajeet, 30, who is serving life term, tried to cross the boundary wall of the jail on Friday night, Superintendent of Police S. H. M. Rijvi, said . He was later found laying unconscious near the prison premises, the SP said, adding he was admitted to hospital where his condition was stated to be serious. A resident of Sahjanwa, Gorakhpur, Indrajeet has been serving life sentence since 2002 in connection with a murder case.
