Jobless youths protest

Kanpur: Rendered jobless after the closure of the Reliance Fresh stores, hundreds of youthson Saturday protested the Government’s action. About a thousand youths had been recruited by the Reliance Fresh Stores that were to be opened here but the State Government’s order to close the stores has left them without jobs.

The agitators also smeared Chief Minister Mayawati’s poster with their blood. They said that the Government policies have pushed them to the streets and demanded that either the Government should give them employment or reopen the Reliance Fresh Stores. The demonstrators threatened to commit suicide if their demands were not met.
