BIJAPUR: Three teachers, who were on election duty, have been suspended on charge of dereliction of duty. They are S.P. Chavan, S.M. Jawai and P.W. Rathod. They were deputed as poll officials in ward 4 of Bijapur City Municipal Council. But they allegedly went out for a drink on Thursday night leaving the election material in the booth. Later, they were caught in an inebriated condition by the vigilance squad. — Staff Correspondent
