Rare surgery performed

KOCHI: Doctors at the Lisie Hospital here led by Mossa Kunhi successfully carried out a rare surgery on a six-month baby boy from Kasaragod who was brought to the hospital with severe breathlessness.

Farman Ahmed was diagnosed as having left diaphragmatic hernia and respiratory distress. The boy’s heart was on the right side. Surgery was carried out successfully to shift the intestines to the abdomen and to correct the heart position.
