Trade unions to take part in bandh

CHENNAI: All major trade unions in the State will participate in the bandh called by the Democratic Progressive Alliance on October 1.

A joint meeting of the unions here on Saturday adopted a resolution offering support to the bandh, as it was for early implementation of the Sethusamudram project.

It said the project was necessary for the development of southern parts of the State.

Vested interests and communal forces were trying to stall it.Representatives of the LPF, CITU, AITUC, INTUC, HMS, and Pattali Workers’ Union and Ambedkar Viduthalai Munnani participated.
