One-day regatta on October 6

Mumbai: Global watchmaker, Seiko is exploring the possibility of promoting sailing in India. To start with it will sponsor the one-day regatta titled the Seiko Velatura YAI opening regatta here on October 6.

“We were the official timekeeper at the recent Osaka World athletic championship. We are also the global partner for the international 49er, an Olympic class event,” said Atsushi Kaneko, Managing Director, Seiko Watch India, here on Thursday.

Malav Shroff, India’s only sailing representative at the Athens Olympics in the 49er class said: “It’s a fast and intense 20 to 25 minute event.”
