JD(S) legislature party meeting sought

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Providing a new dimension to the ongoing political developments in the State, several Janata Dal (Secular) legislators have demanded that their party convene an emergency meeting of its legislature party.

State Janata Dal (S) State president Merajuddin Patel told The Hindu on Saturday that the MLAs had met him and placed the demand. He said he would take up the issue with party president H. D. Deve Gowda, after he returned from Tamil Nadu on Sunday.

Meanwhile, JD (S) sources indicated that State BJP president D.V. Sadananda Gowda had sought an appointment for his party vice-president Yashwant Sinha with Mr. Deve Gowda for talks on transfer of power.
