Call to tone up performance of Government school students

TIRUPATTUR: Teachers in Government schools should put in maximum efforts to produce good pass percentage, Tirupattur sub-division Sub Collector Ashish Kumar said here on Saturday.
He was participating in a function to distribute awards to the best teachers in the revenue districts of Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur.
It was organised by the Lions Club (Dist 324-A4) at Ramakrishna Higher Secondary School.
Mr. Kumar said the teachers were showing keen interest in improving education standards.
hey should also ensure that there is no necessity to resort to private tuition centres.
More emphasis should be put on imparting quality education to students from the rural areas. Students from the Government schools should be made competitive enough with those from urban private schools, Mr. Kumar said.
The standard of education in Government schools should also be raised on a par with private education institutions.
Mr. Kumar handed over ‘Gnanaguru’ award to the best teachers below 40 years of age in the four districts.
