VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Animal Husbandry and district in charge Mandali Buddha Prasad has asked Collector to set right the irregularities in Adarsa Rythu selections and also inquire into tenders for execution of canals in Jami. He has also agreed to apprise the government on the demand for extending 50 per cent subsidy to farmers under ‘Vyvasaya Yantrikarana’ programme for purchasing mobile oil engines, modern drainage facility in all the four municipalities and special grants for residential bridge schools. A resolution on the said demands were passed at the District Review Committee meeting held here on Sunday.

Mr. Buddha Prasad asked Collector B. Kishore to inquire into the Congress MLA Kumba Ravi Babu’s remarks that the Irrigation Department had invited tenders for executing repairs to three irrigation channels at a cost of over Rs. 20 lakhs in Jami mandal though they were repaired under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme some time ago. He also asked the Collector to correct the irregularities in the selection of ‘Adarsa Rythu’ and recover the honorarium paid to them.

On progress of work on irrigation projects and rehabilitation of oustees, Minister for Housing Botsa Satyanarayana said a feasibility study for irrigating 17,000 acres in Gajapathinagaram and Dattirajeru mandals was on. When M.V.S. Sarma, MLC sought increase in housing grant, Mr. Satyanarayana said that the government was considering a tie-up for supplying steel through steel plant and also bridge finance to the tune of Rs. 20,000 at 25 paise interest for incomplete Indiramma houses.
