BHUBANESWAR: In continuation of their protest against Reliance Fresh, members of All Orissa Roadside Vendors’ and Small Shop Association (AORVA) on Sunday threw fruits allegedly belonging to the company to drains. The AORVA alleged that Reliance Fresh had sold several tonnes fruit at cheaper rate since the company could not open their outlets in the city. "The company had sold the stock carefully to different godowns. When small traders bought those stocks, they found that the fruits were still labelled as Reliance Fresh," AORVA Chief Advisor Amiya Pandav said. As a mark of protest, traders destroyed the all stickers and logo of the company at Ram Mandir Square here on Sunday, Mr. Pandav said. Meanwhile, AORVA has threatened to target Reliance Industries Limited’s sister concerns if the company did not shelve its retail plan. "Our Atmaghati Bahini, dedicated squad, would enter petroleum outlets of Reliance Industries Limited. Every installation of the company would be targeted. We awaiting their response," AORVA President Pratap Sahu said hardening his stand, Similarly, smalltime traders planned to take out rally on occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 seeking participation of people in their opposition to RIL’s retail plan in Orissa.
