“Technology triggers development”

VILLUPURAM: A State-level seminar, ‘Hubvision 2007,’ was conducted by the Department of Computer Science of Theivanai Ammal College for Women here recently.

In her inaugural address, Ponammal K. Pandian, chief executive officer of ESSM Charities, said technology was the driving force behind wealth generation and development.

Inherent problems

Technology advancement had its own inherent problems that the country should be ready to tackle, she said.

Resource persons from Chidambaram, Puducherry and Chennai spoke on artificial neural networks and its applications, image processing and animation.

Competitions

Quiz and debugging competitions were also conducted.

G.V. Uma, professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Anna University, gave away prizes to the winners.

S. Senthil Kumar, college joint secretary, and S.Padmavathy, principal, spoke.
