Lorries impounded

Krishnagiri: Revenue officials seized two lorries carrying illegally quarried sand at Nadusalai near here on Sunday. Acting on instructions from Collector Santhosh Babu, a team were conducting vehicle checks at Nadusalai following which the vehicles were seized.

Two persons were arrested in this connection. Action has been initiated against the vehicle owners under the Tamil Nadu Miner Minerals Act 1959. The District Administration will take stringent action against vehicle owners indulging in illegal sand quarrying, the Collector has warned.
