PUDUCHERRY: Functionaries of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and its allied parties will observe a fast here on Monday for speedy implementation of the Sethusamudram project. Referring to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s call for observing a fast instead of a bandh in support of the demand, convener of the Puducherry unit of the DMK R.V. Janakiraman said the protest would be staged near the Tiruvalluvar Bus Stand. DMK functionaries, legislators, local body representatives and leaders of the Congress, the Pattali Makkal Katchi, the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and the Dravidar Kazhagam would participate, he said.
