Sarpanches flay Transco threat

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Sarpanches’ Association has criticised AP Transco officials for threatening 21,943 sarpanches across 22 districts that they would stop power supply if bills for street lights and drinking water schemes are not paid immediately.The panel called for staging of dharnas before district collectorates and AP Transco sub-stations by sarpanches irrespective of party affiliation.
