Conference on road construction

NEW DELHI: About 250 experts on road, transport and construction from over 20 countries will take part in the two-day regional conference of the Geneva-based International Road Federation (IRF) here beginning October 5.

Union Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T.R. Balu along with Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit are scheduled to inaugurate the meet. The theme of the conference is “Road safety-design, construction and operations of road”. Some of the subject that will be discussed during the meet will include safety during road operation, designs for road safety and road safety audits.
