VIZIANAGARAM: Lok Sabha Member Botsa Jhansi Lakshmi has said that the project report for a comprehensive storm water drainage and sewerage system (underground drainage), which would be done at an estimated cost of Rs. 118 crores for the town was made ready by a Lucknow-based consultancy firm.
Speaking at the stakeholders’ meeting at the Municipal Council Hall on Saturday evening, the MP said that the firm had submitted the report to Andhra Pradesh Urban Sevices for the Poor (APUSP) and added that the project was designed keeping in view the increasing population and rainfall in the town.
Collector B. Kishore said that the works would be executed shortly.
Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy, MLA, said that if necessary the design would be altered after receiving suggestions from others. Municipal Chairperson M. Geetha said that tenders would be called shortly after a resolution at the next Council meeting was passed.
