MANGALORE: The Association of Physics Teachers of Mangalore University and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will jointly celebrate the ‘Space Week’ in different colleges of Mangalore University area from Monday. AnniversaryAccording to a joint press release from M. Ramesh Bhat, coordinator of the Space Week programme and Narayan Bhat, Secretary of the association here, the first artificial satellite Sputnik I was launched on October 4, 1957, marking it the 50th anniversary of the event this year. DisplayThe event will include programmes like display of satellite models and charts, video show, guest lectures by ISRO scientists and interaction with scientists. College listThe programme will be held at M.G.M. College, Udupi, and Bhandarkars College, Kundapur, on October 1, S.D.M. College, Ujire, on October 2. It will be held at Govindadasa College, Suratkal, on October 3 and at Sri Bhuvanendra College, Karkala, on October 4. The event will be at S.V.S. College, Bantwal, on October 5, St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, on October 6 and Milagres College, Kallianpur, on October 7.
