MANGALORE: The Association of Physics Teachers of Mangalore University and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will jointly celebrate the ‘Space Week’ in different colleges of Mangalore University area from Monday. According to a joint press release from M. Ramesh Bhat, coordinator of the Space Week programme and Narayan Bhat, Secretary of the association here, the first artificial satellite Sputnik I was launched on October 4, 1957, marking it the 50th anniversary of the event this year. The event will include programmes such as display of satellite models and charts, video show and guest lectures by ISRO scientists.
