It will act as nodal point to monitor movement of patrol vehicles
TIRUCHI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Saturday visited the new police control room at Cantonment here. He declared it open on Friday.
Additional Director-General of Police K. Vijay Kumar; Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) M.S. Jaffar Sait; Inspector General of Police, Central Zone, Tiruchi, I. Raja; Commissioner of Police Shankar Jiwal; and the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tiruchi Range, Ashok Kumardas received the Chief Minister.
Mr. Vijay Kumar and Mr. Jaffar Sait said the control room was equipped with facilities necessary for effective monitoring and supervision. It had sufficient space for the Traffic Regulatory Management System.
Nodal point
The computerised control room would serve as a nodal point from where the movement of patrol vehicles fitted with Global Positioning System and a modem could be monitored round the clock. Ministers Arcot N. Veerasamy, M.K. Stalin, Durai Murugan, K. N. Nehru and N. Selvaraj accompanied the Chief Minister.
