Before coming here, Mr. Mehra was posted as Chief Secretary of Puducherry. The 55-year-old senior bureaucrat had earlier also served as Adviser to the UT Administrator from November 1995 to April 1997.

He was also the Chairman of the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) from August 1993 to November 1995.

Mr. Mehra completed his schooling from St Johns’ High School, Sector 26, did his graduation from Government College, Sector 11 and Post-Graduation from Panjab University.

Infrastructure

He told media persons that development of infrastructure would be an important priority for him. There would be continuity in the implementation of policies and programmes and change of guards at the Adviser level would not cause any abrupt change.
