Indian Table Tennis Federation president Ajay Singh Chautala CHANDIGARH: Haryana Olympic Association (HOA) President Abhey Singh Chautala and Indian Table Tennis Federation President Ajay Singh Chautala on Sunday condemned the Haryana Government’s move of appointing R.R.Jowel, Registrar, Cooperative Societies Haryana as the Administrator, Haryana Olympic Association under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. In a statement issued here on Sunday night they asserted that the HOA was democratically elected and the Government’s decision was “unconstitutional and illegal.”Mr.Abhey Singh Chautala said that the Sirsa State Games to be held from October 2 to 4 would be held as per schedule. He further said that the Government had no right to appoint an administrator as the HOA was not a government department but an independent body. The HOA, which was an IOA recognized Olympic Association, was organsing the state games as per the orders of the Court. A petition would be filed against the State Government under the Contempt of Court Act soon, he added. Meanwhile, Mr.Jowel said that he had been appointed Administrator for six months to manage the affairs of the Association. He added that with his appointment both the parallel Haryana Olympic Associations had been scrapped till the time a new body is elected. Any sports events organised by these Olympic Associations would be entirely illegal, he added.
