I acted on my conscience: Bhagwandas

Nirupama Subramanian

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court judge Rana Bhagwandas, one of three dissenting judges on the bench that dismissed petitions against President Pervez Musharraf’s bid to seek another term last week, has said that he acted on his conscience.

The Pakistan media reported that he said this to journalists after addressing the students of an educational institute in Karachi on Saturday.

He told the students that the Constitution was the supreme law of the land and all institutions of the State, the executive, parliament, and judiciary were governed by it.
