KOCHI: The Australian and Indian cricket teams which arrived at the Cochin International Airport on Sunday night, for the second one-dayer to be played on October 2, were received warmly by a huge crowd. Though the teams are scheduled to have a practice session on Monday morning, it is likely to be cancelled. Heavy rain this afternoon slowed the work on the practice wicket at the Nehru Stadium and with the outfield yet to harden up properly, the organisers would not like to take any risk at this stage. Cherished momentOne of the moments Sreesanth treasures is the time he got his Test cap from Sachin Tendulkar in Nagpur last year. Now the talented paceman hopes to go after his hero’s record. “My aim, my dream, is to get five wickets on my home ground here, like Sachin bhai,” said Sreesanth here on Sunday. Sachin, the world’s highest run-getter in ODIs, holds the best bowling record at Kochi’s Nehru Stadium with his five for 32 which came against Australia in April 1998. He has also taken the most wickets, ten from three matches and is the only player to get a five-wicket haul here, having done it twice. With the Aussies back here, Sreesanth has a fine chance to do a Sachin. — Principal Correspondent
