Kishore, Daniel emerge winners

CHENNAI: D. Kishore Kumar of Santhome School and Daniel Raj David of Don Bosco emerged the under-18 and 16 winners respectively in the inter-school table tennis competition held as part of the Kumara Rajah Muthiah memorial inter-collegiate and inter-school tournaments here.

The tournaments were earlier inaugurated by S.N. Seshasai, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and on the final day, Nirmal Shekar, Sports Editor, The Hindu, gave away the prizes.

The results: Inter-school table tennis: U-18: Final: D. Kishore Kumar (Santhome) bt Daniel Raj David (Don Bosco) 13-11, 11-5, 11-8; U-16: Daniel Raj David (Don Bosco) bt Siddarth (PS Sr.) 11-13, 11-7, 11-7, 11-8.

Inter-collegiate cricket: Final: K.R.M.M.C defeated Quaid E- Millad by eight wickets. Man of the series: J. Prashanth (KRMMC); Best batsman: N. Rupendran (KRMMC); Best bowler: Ajith Kumar (Dr B.C.C.C. Hindu).

Inter-collegiate volleyball: Final: YMCA bt DB Jain College 25-19, 25-22.

Inter-collegiate kho-kho: Final: DB Jain bt Guru Nanak 10-7, 13-8. — Special Correspondent
