No breakthrough in doctor’s case

NEW DELHI: The police are yet to make a breakthrough in the case of attempted criminal assault on a doctor working on a contract basis with the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital at Moti Nagar here this past week.

The 24-year-old victim, a final year student of Diplomate of National Board, is battling for life at Balaji Hospital. The police said they are awaiting forensic reports in the case.

The doctor was found lying unconscious in an ESIC hostel room and was rushed to hospital by her sister. Earlier doctors at the hospital said she appeared to have consumed some poisonous substance, but later it turned out that an attempt had been made to criminally assault her.
