New Delhi: Some domestic airlines have decided to hike the fuel surcharge on tickets by Rs. 100, following a four per cent increase in the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) on Monday.
Leading no-frills carrier SpiceJet said it had decided on the quantum of the hike in the surcharge, but the date from which it would be effected was yet to be decided. “We have decided to increase the fuel surcharge by Rs. 100,” a SpiceJet spokesperson told PTI here. Paramount Airlines had also decided to increase the surcharge by Rs. 100.
Other airlines are likely to take a decision in a couple of days. — PTI
