Voicing concern: Justice Usha Mehra meets residents of the SC colony in Malkapur vilage near Sangareddy on Monday.

Sangareddy: Madigas outnumbered Malas in airing their point of view to Justice Usha Mehra the Chairman of Scheduled Castes categorisation commission here today. Large number of groups belonging to the Madigas and sub castes like Budaga Jangams and Oliya Dasaris urged the Chairman to recommend categorisation of the Scheduled Castes. Even though the representatives of 59 sub castes have apprehensions about offering a major chunk of SC reservations to Madigas, they told the Chairman in unequivocal terms that they would prefer categorisation.

However, they demanded a roster system of reservations so that the fruits of reservations reach every one.

Justice Mehra visited SC colonies in near by Malkapur and Kandi villages. She inquired about the number of Malas and Madigas in each village. The residents told the Chairman that none of the Madiga boys got employment.
