Post-poll clashes cause injuries

Hiriyur (Chitradurga): Three police persons, including a Sub-Inspector of Hiriyur taluk, have sustained minor injuries. Twelve people have been arrested and cases against 30 have been booked. The incident took place after the election for gram panchayat president and vice-president, where a few Congress members alleged that some three Janata Dal (Secular) members had taken money from the Congress to vote against the JD(S) candidates, but later voted in favour of JD(S) candidates.
