Exhibition on Hindi literature inaugurated

Finer points: Union Minister Chandrasekhar Sahoo at the exhibition held by Rashtriya Hindi Academy in Gopalpur on Tuesday.

BERHAMPUR: The 20th All-India Rajbhasha Sammelan was inaugurated at Gopalpur beach resort on Tuesday afternoon by Union Minister of State for Rural Development Chandrasekhar Sahu.An exhibition on Hindi literature was inaugurated by him at the venue of this three-day national conference organised by the Rashtriya Hindi Academy. Chairman of the Rashtriya Hindi Academy Swadesh Bharati, its working chairman Ratnakar Pandey and K.Bijay Kumar, chairman of Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology of the Central Government were present at the ceremony.

‘Pravashi Sansar’, a collection of articles related to Eighth World Hindi Conference, was released during the inaugural session.

‘Rupambara’, the journal of the Rashtriya Hindi Academy was released. Five Oriya literary personalities, Shanakar Lal Purohit, Pratibha Satpathy, Brajanath Rath, Rajendra Prasad Mishra and Manorama Biswal Mohapatra were awarded Rashtriya Sahitya Samman during this ceremony.

Film project

Mr Sahu said interchange of literary works between Hindi and other Indian languages through publication of translations could contribute a great deal towards national integration. Mr Bharati announced that the National Hindi Academy had taken up a project to produce a film on the life of the great Oriya literary personality, Fakir Mohan Senapaty. A national level ’Kavi Sammelan’ followed the inaugural session.This three-day national conference would have nine sessions. Its focus would be on Information Technology and development of Hindi and Indian languages.
