District Collector Theva Needhi Dhas takes a look at cotton saris at the Co-optex exhibition in Puducherry. PUDUCHERRY: Marudham, Nachiar, Maanthalir, Tiruvarangam and Giri cotton saris ... these are just a few varieties on display at the Co-optex exhibition-cum-sale, which opened on Monday at the Colas Hall opposite Mission Street Church in Puducherry. District Collector G. Theva Needhi Dhas inaugurated the exhibition. The exhibition, open till October 10, has cotton shirts, saris, bed sheets and dress materials. A wide variety of cotton saris, priced between Rs.300 to Rs.1,500, are from Coimbatore, Salem, Madurai, Vellore and Trichy. A discount of 30 per cent is on offer. Cotton shirts are available at a discount of 20 per cent. Co-optex is offering a discount of 20 per cent on Kanchi cotton chudidhar materials. Co-optex has showrooms in Puducherry and Karaikal. Last year, sales at Co-optex during the Deepavali season was Rs.39.04 lakh. The target for this year’s festival season is Rs.52.70 lakh.
