Illicit liquor, spirit seized

Kanhangad: Around 15,000 packets of illicit liquor and 350 litres of spirit have been seized from a residence near here on Sunday night, the police said.

Following complaint by locals, a police team raided a house at nearby Periyattadukam and seized the brew along with equipment used for manufacturing the liquor from a rented quarters. However, occupants of the house fled the scene as the police impounded two vehicles parked close to the residence.

The owner of the house is being questioned in connection with the incident, they said. – PTI
