THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Left Democratic Front (LDF) convener and KSRT Employees’ Association (KSRTEA) president Vaikom Viswan has called upon the government to take stern action to put an end to attacks on KSRTC buses and employees. In a statement here on Monday, Mr. Viswan pointed out that attacks on KSRTC staff and property were on the rise and cited the gutting of a KSRTC bus after tying down the bus driver at Poovar in the district as the latest in the series of such attacks. The driver was being treated the Medical College Hospital for serious burn injuries, he pointed out. ‘Planned attempt’He said the attacks appeared to be the handiwork of gangs engaged in pilferage of diesel. Such attacks could only be seen as part of a planned attempt to weaken KSRTC and demoralise the workers, he added.
