ALAPPUZHA: Coir and Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran has suggested that the M.S. Swaminathan Commission, whose report on Kuttanad has been approved by the Centre, be appointed to monitor the implementation of the Rs.1,840-crore package. Inaugurating the Save Kuttanad Forum, a non-governmental organisation at Mankombu, in the presence of M.S. Swaminathan Foundation director S. Balaravi, K.C. Venugopal, MLA, and others on Tuesday, the Minister said a committee with Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan could also be set up to assist the Commission in this regard.
