Scribe shot dead in Aligarh

ALIGARH: A local journalist was shot dead by unidentified persons here, when he was going for an after-dinner stroll, police said on Sunday.

Hari Om Aggarwal, the district correspondent of Punjab Kesri, was fired at from point blank range last night, just outside his residence in Sarai Hakim area in the city when he was going for an after-dinner stroll.

Sarai Hakim is in the heart of the old city and the road is normally busy even in late hours.

However, no one came to help Aggarwal after he was shot, police said.

Nobody has been arrested in the incident, they said. Police are clueless about the reason behind the incident.

Meanwhile, local media persons held a meeting here and expressed concern over the law and order situation in the city. - PTI
