Infotech to map Chennai, Ahmedabad

HYDERABAD: Infotech Enterprises will take up GIS (geographic information system) mapping of Chennai and Ahmedabad. Surveyor-General of India, Maj. Gen. Gopal Rao, inaugurated Infotech’s facility on the campus of Survey of India here recently. Around 500 sq. km. of thickly populated urban areas will be covered on a 1:1000 scale. The features to be captured include buildings, transport network, utility networks, communication structures, water bodies, vegetation, and contours. — Special Correspondent
