Dehra Dun: An old man rescued his grandson from the jaws of death after fighting valiantly with a leopard in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district. The leopard, which has claimed two lives so far, attacked Dipendra Kathayat (6) when he was sitting inside his home at Pipali area of Pithoragarh, forest officials said. On hearing boy’s shrieks, his grandfather Ram Singh Kathayat ran towards the leopard and tried to rescue the child by attacking the beast with his fists. Being attacked by the old man, the leopard threw away the child into nearby fields and ran away.
