KADAPA: Steeped in debt and illness, a handloom weaver, Janapati Narasimhulu, 55, committed suicide by consuming ‘Super Vasmol’, a hair dye, in his house at Dorasanipalle in Proddatur mandal on Tuesday. He died on the way to SVIMS hospital. His wife Ramadevi and son took him to Proddatur Government hospital, from where he was referred to RIMS hospital at Kadapa and in turn to SVIMS hospital at Tirupati, according to the police. He died on the way and they returned to the village with Narasimhulu’s body. Narasimhulu, who was ailing for some time, was saddled with a debt of Rs. 1.50 lakhs and took his life unable to clear the debt, Ramadevi lamented. The Proddatur police registered a case and are investigating.
