Arrest of culprits sought in doctor’s case

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Strongly condemning “negligent attitude” of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation Hospital administration for the attack on a lady doctor recently, Pragatisheel Mahila Sangathan has demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and a detailed investigation of the entire episode by a team of senior doctors constituted by the Union Labour Ministry.

The Sangathan has demanded suspension of the hospital’s Medical Superintendent.

A three-member team of the Sangathan visited Balaji Hospital over the weekend and met the victim’s relatives. It also visited the hostel and met doctors working in the hospital.

According to the Sangathan, another woman doctor had vacated the hostel premises after the incident and working doctors were unaware of any committee functioning in the hospital to deal with complaints of sexual harassment.
