MAHABUBNAGAR: Mallepally, a tiny village of Utkoor mandal about 85 km from here, wore a festive look on Tuesday with arches and banners.
Villagers wore new clothes and prepared sweets, the occasion being ‘Gruhapravesham’ of houses sanctioned under Indiramma programme.
Mallepally village was sanctioned with 260 houses, of which 162 were completed; the remaining are in finishing touches.
The Minister for Health and Family Welfare Sambani Chandrasekhar informed that the State was spending Rs. 2,000 crore under Indiramma in the district and another Rs. 6 crore is being spent per on pensions to the old people.
