‘Focus attention on development’

VIRUDHUNAGAR: People should focus their attention on development activities, instead of getting diverted towards law and order issues, the Collector, V. Chandrasekaran, said here on Tuesday.

Addressing a gram sabha meeting at Pattam Pudur village near here, Mr. Chandrasekaran urged the parents to send their children to school, utilising the various assistance like free bus pass provided by the Government to encourage education.

They should also ensure that their children excelled in both studies and sports.

The Collector said that the district administration was taking all necessary steps to provide ration cards and free house site pattas to eligible families in the district. It was undertaking a weekly review of the performance of self-help groups and was also taking steps to market their products.

Gram sabha meetings were held in all 450 village panchayats on Gandhi Jayanthi day.
