THENI: Several new varieties of cotton and silk saris and chudidhar materials in attractive designs developed by Kala Kshetra and National Institute of Design are on sale in all Cooptex show rooms in Dindigul and Theni districts. Besides, quality bed-sheets, towels, bedspreads, cotton carpets and dhotis and readymade garments for men are also on display.
Thirty per cent rebate is offered for both cotton and silk items and flexible loan facilities available for employees of government and public sector undertakings, teachers and noon meal staff.
Launching the festival sale at a Cooptex showroom in Theni on Tuesday, Collector Har Sahay Meena said Cooptex had sold textiles worth Rs.57.84 lakh last year of which sale during festival season was Rs.38.71 lakh, 67 per cent of total sale.
