Call to imbibe Gandhian ideals

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Sanathnagar MLA M. Shashidhar Reddy on Tuesday called upon the youth to imbibe Gandhian principles for betterment of the society.

Participating at the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations organised by M. Chenna Reddy Memorial Trust on M.G. Road in Secunderabad, Mr. Reddy hailed the United Nations Organisation’s decision to observe October 2 as International Day of Non-Violence.

“As there is every need to promote Gandhian values, the trust would take up the initiative in organising such awareness programmes,” said Mr. Reddy.

He further said the statue on M.G Road was the first Gandhi statue in twin cities and was installed by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1953. Home Minister K. Jana Reddy, MP V. Hanumanth Rao, Khairtabad MLA P. Janardhan Reddy and several MLCs were present on the occasion.
