HYDERABAD: Hundreds of motorists heading towards Banjara Hills were put to hardship on Tuesday night as they were caught unawares at Punjagutta crossroads after one side of the road where scaffolding of the flyover caved-in, was cordoned off for laying new water pipelines.
The police diverted the traffic from the junction to other alternative routes for the smooth conduct of the work.
Pipelines were being laid from Nagarjuna circle to Punjagutta crossroads.
Water started leaking from other pipelines when workers were digging the road, but it was rectified immediately.
“We have erected barricades to restrict the entry of motorists,” the police said. The work may be completed by Wednesday morning.
