TAMBARAM: Gold jewellery weighing about eight sovereigns were robbed from a woman who was admitted to a private hospital in Nanganallur on Monday.
The woman, hailing from Rajasthan, complained of knee pain and went to the hospital. She was admitted and kept under observation in a room. While she was alone, a man informed her that scan and other tests had to be performed. He asked her to remove the gold jewels and she obliged. The unsuspecting woman removed her gold chain, ear rings and bangles and handed them over to the man who was nowhere to be seen moments later. Police are investigating.
