LIC golden jubilee fete concludes

SOUVENIR RELEASE: N.M. Sundaram, all-India president of the Insurance Employees’ Association, presenting first copy of the LIC’s golden jubilee souvenir to L. CHENNAI: The Chennai zone of the Life Insurance Corporation concluded the year-long golden jubilee celebrations of the organisation with various competitions for children and the release of a jubilee souvenir on Tuesday.

The events held under the auspices of the Insurance Corporation Employees’ Union (ICEU) were marked by medical camps, a jubilee conference, distribution of relief for the poor and the publication of a booklet on the agrarian crisis in the State.

At the valedictory session, N.M. Sundaram, all India president of the Insurance Employees’ Association, formally released a golden jubilee souvenir.

Mr. Sundaram called upon the employees’ organisation to retain a strong service orientation and undertake initiatives for the betterment of the underprivileged.

B. Manivannan, zonal manager, LIC Chennai, said the credit for the success of the organisation went to the team work among employees across levels.

Arul Devadas, director of the Madras Social Service Society, V. Ramesh and R. D. Dharanipathi, office-bearers of the South Zone Insurance Employees’ Federation and G. Jayaraman, president of the ICEU also participated.

Prizes were distributed to children who won various competitions organised in this connection. Sportspersons in the LIC who distinguished themselves were also felicitated.
