Loans to farmers at 3 p.c. interest demanded

HYDERABAD: The Leader of the Opposition, N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday demanded that the Congress Government make available agricultural loans to farmers at 3 per cent interest.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was addressing partymen in the NTR Memorial Trust Bhavan after paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

Farmer suicides

Recalling the thousands of farmers who had committed suicide over past three years, unable to bear the continued debt burden, he said Government should rescue them by giving crop loans to farmers at the low interest.
