Festival advance for pensioners hiked

CHENNAI: The State Government has announced that the festival advance for all government pensioners has been increased to Rs. 1000 from Rs. 500. Several pensioners’ associations had been requesting the Government to increase the advance since 1992. — Special Correspondent
