TOKYO: The ‘Olympics’ of global electronics showcasing the leading edge technology that will decide the future of entertainment at home and work in the offices began here on Tuesday.

In this six-day event, there will be no sprints or gymnastics though global giants are definitely in the race for capturing the consumers’ imagination with awesome electronic gadgets and, consequently, become market leaders in the products they manufacture.

The buzzword at the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technology (CEATEC) Japan 2007 is high definition television.

It is high definition quality that will sell.
